Hello readers! So I know doing monthly favourites is a thing and pretty much every beauty guru has done one in their lifetime, but I'm here to present to you my monthly favourites, and no, I'm not exactly a beauty guru lmao. I actually wasn't inspired by a beauty guru to do this video, I was inspired by AmazingPhil's May Favourites video! (Phil's Favourites)
Without further a-do, here are some things I've been loving this month of April!
Beauty
- Revlon Colorstay Concealer
I've been struggling to find a really good concealer that could really do the trick, for a while I've just been packing on the foundation for extra coverage because I didn't really have a good concealer. But, I picked this one up while I was at the mall with my sister, and it was surprisingly affordable and it does its job good! I find that it blends really well and it doesn't really give off a 'cakey' look even when I pack it on, and I do since my face really needs it ayyy, thats sad...
- St. Ives Timeless Skin Collagen Elastin Moisturizer
Summer's currently at its peak here in the Philippines, and my face gets really, really dry during the summer. I needed a deep moisturizer, and my mum actually gave this one to me, and damn is it moisturizing. I use it at night, so the moisturizer seeps in the pores of my face while I sleep. I think it's better to use it at night, because if you put it on during the day, it might just give you an oily look.
- Highlighting
Highlighting's been a major trend these days, and I now only appreciate its effect. I've always highlighted, but never with like, an actual highlighter? If that makes sense... I mean like, I've never full on glowed. That sounds weird.
Anyways, now it's like I can't leave the house without even the slightest hint of highlight. It is summer, so, looking dewy seems appropriate.
I don't use an actual highlighter-product, instead I use the shade 'Daybreak', which is an eyeshadow from Clinique with a 'super shimmer' finish!

Music
I've been listening to James Bay, Hozier, Foster the People and The 1975 lately. Also the usual indie because that is just in my heart, let's be honest.
I made a whole playlist on the songs I've been loving this month! Check it out here.
Fashion
As it is currently summer time here in the Philippines, people are literally wearing little to no clothes. Seriously, summer time in this country is only fun when you're at a pool or a beach. Since I have no easy access to either of those things, I do not appreciate the weather that much. So, in an effort to stay as dry and non-sweaty as possible, all I've been wearing out are some shorts and sandals. It's too hot for leggings, and too hot for pants! Sometimes I don't even make an effort to put makeup on cause I'll just sweat the whole thing off. I'm currently sweating as I am typing this right now. Yes, we do own an AC, but there is also this thing called an electric bill, ya know.
Movie
- She's the Man
- The Visit
- The Shining
- The Exorcist
I watched a ton of horror movies this month! I also watched the new Poltergeist and Paranormal movie, but I didn't include it here cause I didn't really like it. oops.
I revisited one of my childhood fears, which is The Exorcist! I remember this was the one horror movie that scared the living crap out of me! I'm not too easily scared of horror movies now, but this one honestly still sent shivers down my spine.
I also watched The Shining, which was a cult classic that I surprisingly haven't watched yet. I loved this movie to bits. The cinematography was sooooooooo good. I don't think it was really scary, but it's definitely worth watching.
The Visit was also really surprisingly good! I thought it was gonna be another one of those shitty scary movies that have been coming out recently, but I really really liked this one. The plot line, I thought was brilliant. The acting was ace as well. If you haven't already, I say watch it right now.
Horror movies aside, I did watch a rom com that I really loved. I watched She's the Man, which was hilarious! I had to pause the movie several times cause I couldn't hear anything over my laughter. Such a feel good movie that I could just go back to whenever I'm feeling down.
- Death Note
This was surprising, even for me. And guess who I have to blame for this? Daniel James Howell. You little shit. I never thought I would ever even consider watching anime. The thought of it was ridiculous to me, it just wasn't for me. But after watching Dan's videos, Anime Will Ruin Your Life and Anime Recommendations, that cheeky bastard somehow manipulated me into watching some sort of anime. I chose Death Note, cause I think that's the one I'm most aware of, and according Dan, it has an easy to follow plot line. Now, anime hasn't consumed me yet, but I am enjoying this show a lot! Like, a lot.
- Project Runway
It was one fateful Wednesday when I woke up at 3 am and couldn't sleep. I decided to watch some telly just to tire myself out, so I turned to TLC cause I love that damn channel. Project Runway was playing so I thought Eh, why not? Little did I know how addictive the show actually was.
- Vampire Diaries
I don't know what compelled me to watch this show, but I decided to give it a try. I find that it's not too cheesy, but there's some hints of cheesiness. But I like it so far!
- The Amazing Book is Not on Fire
I cannot describe the noise I made when I finally got my hands on this book. I had found out about this book last year, when they announced it (duh), but I never got round to picking it up. But now since I have rekindled my love for these two dorks, I did the only logical thing I could do. And that is to impulsively buy the book even though I technically am broke. Anyways! I finally found a copy after searching 2 different book stores and all is good. I love its content! The collages are my aesthetic, ugh. I really do appreciate their writing and the effort they both put into this book, and I couldn't be anymore proud of my two angels.
Others
- Fashion designing
(I have Project Runway to blame for this)
I've always loved fashion design and creating clothes. I remember when I was around 12, I really got into sewing, and I would get all my t-shirts and re-create them and make halter tops n stuff. It was one fateful Wednesday when I woke up at 3 am and couldn't
- danisnotonfire & AmazingPhil
I'm back in the Youtube game! I've been a fan of youtubers since I was in the 5th grade, but recently I've gotten back into the deep dark hole that is watching Phan til 2 am everyday. I don't know what happened, but I think I stumbled across one of Phil's new videos, then another one... and another one and so on and so forth. Dan and Phil were some of the first youtubers I ever started watching, and now I am back in the Phandom, more emotional than ever.
