Hello readers! So summer's pretty much already coming to a close (noooooooooo), and I'm just sulking up its last few weeks in my house, getting as much sleep as I can, cause I know once school starts there won't be much of it anymore. It's been incredibly hot in my country. Like, insanely hot, you'd be surprised I'm still functioning. We've reached temperatures up to 45 degrees celsius. See what I mean? Anyway, the only reason I haven't died of heat stroke is I've been taking a billion showers in one day, drinking lots of water and used up my AC to the point where it might break any moment now. I think this is the hottest summer I've ever had. And that says a lot.
So just to give you an update on what's been happening in my life, 1. My laptop's broken, 2. I've picked up on learning Spanish again, 3. I finally finished Death Note (and it was amazinggg), and 4. The reality of school is finally hitting me.
Firstly, my trusty old laptop, which I had named Clementine, is now officially gone.

The laptop that has stood by my side for almost 4 years, has now gone to electronic heaven. We've had our ups and downs, she's been broken before (a lot), and she's broken again, but I finally decided to put an end to her misery, and the misery of my wallet. I thought this was her time, at last, so I won't be getting her fixed anymore. Instead I'll be buying a new laptop, but that doesn't mean I'll forget about her. RIP, Clementine.
I get attached to my stuff, ok. Anyways, I've basically been dying cause I don't have a laptop to use, so I'm currently living off my phone. Though having an iPhone is basically like having a laptop, it still isn't the same. So I've been borrowing my mum's laptop as much as I can so I can continue writing my blog posts, cause I won't be getting my new laptop till before the school year starts. Bummer.
Secondly, I've been getting back into Spanish lessons again!! I started learning Spanish last year, (through the interwebs and Duolingo) and I got pretty good at it, then I abandoned it, and now I've picked it up again!
I've always wanted to learn another language, I mean even though I'm bi-lingual by default, it's always been a dream of mine to be multi-lingual. I started learning French a while back, then I decided to learn Spanish first because it would be a lot easier for me since a lot of Filipino words were derived from the Spanish language. After I become fluent in Spanish, I'll continue to learn French, then maybe learn Korean afterwards!
This one is more realistic, and funny, unlike Death Note which was dark and thrilling, but I love it nonetheless.
Lastly, as I've mentioned above, school is creeping up the corner, and so is my anxiety. The reason for my unusually higher stress towards school is, not only will I begin Senior High, but I'll be doing it in a new school. I've been in the same school my whole life, and I guess the time has come to finally expand my horizons or whatever the saying is. I mean, I won't be all alone in the new school, I'll actually have one of my best friends there with me, but, I am starting Senior High School, which is a lot different from Junior High. I also plan on joining the cheer team when I get there, but I don't know yet. I'm scared of being the new kid, if you will. I mean, I know there will also be a lot of new students, but still! There will totally be a bad case of culture shock for me, but hopefully I'll survive.
I am excited to go school supplies shopping though. I'm also weirdly excited to start learning again? And having something to do? I don't know, I'll probably regret these words 3 weeks into school.
*some little things I've been getting into recently*
I've been waking up really early recently, like 6 am early (crazy, right), to go for morning jogs! I feel extremely pleased after every run, and it just gives me energy and happiness!
I've also finally downloaded the app, Neko Atsume! You basically collect cats which I totally don't do in real life, *cough* *cough*. It's such a cute n simple game, but it's totally addicting!
So that is it for this blog post! That's pretty much all the exciting stuff that's happened in my life so far. I will try my hardest to put up blog posts despite not having a laptop to work with. I do have a bunch waiting to be published so stay tuned for that! That is all, hope you have a lovely day because you deserve it.
xoxo, Sophia
